E-mail Print

Genealogy Records, or Family records include birth records, marriage records and death records. They may also include census transcriptions, parish records, wills and monumental inscriptions.

Parish Registers

Parish Registers are records of baptisms, marriages, and burials made by the Church.

Census Records

A census is an official, usually periodic count of a population in a given area, often including the collection of related demographic information.  U.S. Federal censuses have been taken every 10 years since 1790, while the UK census has been conducted every ten years since 1801 (excluding 1941).

Census records are of interest to the genealogist and family historian because of the wealth of information they can provide including the name of the head of household, the names of all household members, their ages and occupations. Depending on the country and time peiod census records may contain additional information including place of birth, ethnic background, property value, marriage information, education level, birthplace of parents, relationships between individuals and more.
