(abbreviation) married.

marriage bond:

a document executed to provide a financial guarantee that no legal or moral impediments existed to an intended marriage, to guard against illegal marriages (where for instance one party were already married or under age) or to affirm that the groom would not change his mind. They were also sometimes used to affirm that the bridegroom could support himself and his new bride.

monumental inscriptions:

an inscription, typically carved in stone, on a tombstone, grave marker, cenotaph, memorial plaque, church monument or other memorial. Monumental inscriptions are of importantance to family historians and genealogists as they usually contain birth and death dates, and often details of other family members. Transcriptions of monumental inscriptions are sometimes available in book form, online, on microfiche or in digital format. See cemetery records.
